Laura Linney is a celebrated American actor, who plays powerful, yet vulnerable characters. She was raised by a single, unmarried mother who was a nurse. Linney became interested with theatre in summers spent with her famous father. She was a student of acting through Brown University, and later at Juilliard School. Starting her Broadway-based career soon after graduating, she made her debut in film just after two years before making her debut on television. Since then, she's appeared in countless films and stage and TV productions. Through her entire career, she's won many awards, which include the two Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. In spite of all the accolades, she is still a lover of acting and has performed on both screen and stage.
